Gracias, Fredi

Just a small place to acknowledge an all-time great at the club. I can’t think of a sportsman who better combined on-field excellence and grace with personal excellence and grace. It’s been an honor just to cheer for him.

  1. My first Sevilla jersey had to adorn the name Kanoute. It’s pretty worn now, much like the player, but it will never part my possession. The same can be said about my memories of this great man.

  2. Aaron

What a memorable goodbye for Fredi. Couldn’t have asked for a better finish. It’s pretty simple: Kanouté was/is a superb player and human being. I’ll leave it at that after my words about his play in the previous post.

    ¡Gracias, Fredi!

Marca reporting that puta Malaga will sign Negredo. Obviously these things are usually lies or at least wrong, but it’s worth considering that Negredo is an obvious talent that may fetch the money we need now that we’re not in Europe. But…ugh, puta Malaga? I sure this one’s not true.

  4. Great way to remember Fredi, thanks to the always dramatic Jesús Creations: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_n6SajTu4oM&feature=player_embedded

While del Nido denies it, I have a feeling we’re looking at a solid 2 or 3 years in the 6-10 range before we can accede back into the 3-6 club. Let’s just hope we’re not in the “excited about every win because it keeps us a point above relegation” club.

PS – Rumors about Jonathan Dos Santos coming to Nervion…not another Dos Santos drama, please! (I’d be willing to deal with drama, but only if we get both of the Dos Santos brothers…and the support of their dad as a bonus)
